BRISBANE will be without skipper Dayne Zorko for next week's top-of-the-table clash against Port Adelaide.

The Lions midfielder, who missed last week's win over West Coast with Achilles soreness, strained his right calf in the second term of Sunday's big win over Adelaide.

Coach Chris Fagan said after the match he will miss at least one week, but it's likely to be more.

"It's disappointing for him, he worked really hard to come back. He trained magnificently on Thursday," Fagan said.

"He'll definitely miss next week. It'll be a challenge for him because he's been such a resilient player who has played every week.

"But he's a professional and he'll work extra hard to get it right and we'll bring him back when he's ready."

Fagan was pleased with every aspect of the 37-point victory except for the inaccuracy with his side kicking a wasteful 10.23.

"I'm as disappointed as the players as there wasn't a bigger reward on the scoreboard, but not unhappy with the way we played," he said.

The Crows threatened to make a game of it with the only four goals in the third term, but that was the only bright spot on another disappointing day.

Despite slumping to their fourth straight loss, coach Matthew Nicks was able to draw on the positives.

"We managed to shift the mindset slightly in the third and we saw what footy we're about," he said.

"Unfortunately we couldn't sustain it and to Brisbane's credit I thought they lifted the tempo in the last when they were challenged which is what a good side does.  

"At the moment we're not consistent enough to compete at the level.

"But hopefully our supporters took some faith out of what they saw because the third quarter it was a simple shift that enable us to win that contested ball a little more and the game looks easier.

"That's our challenge to do it quarter by quarter."

The Crows had their own injury issues with Rory Sloane coming from the field with what looked like a nasty ankle injury.

Sloane went straight to the rooms to receive treatment, but was able to return in the second half.

The Crows also lost Will Hamill to concussion after a first-quarter head knock and were forced into a pre-match change with Elliott Himmelberg replacing Darcy Fogarty, who suffered a shoulder injury at training.

Fogarty is expected to be fit for next week's clash against winless Fremantle.
