MELBOURNE has dumped high-profile recruit Adam Tomlinson and recalled midfielder Harley Bennell for its crunch clash against Gold Coast on Saturday night. 

Jayden Hunt, Trent Rivers and Joel Smith have also been axed for the clash against a Suns side that will debut prized No.3 draft pick Izak Rankine.

Hawthorn will unveil No.13 pick Will Day against Collingwood, named to make his debut alongside South Australian Josh Morris with Shaun Burgoyne left out due the five-day break as one of four changes. 

The Pies have pulled a selection shock, naming second-year forward Atu Bosenavulagi to debut alongside father-son Will Kelly, with defender Isaac Quaynor to play his first game of the season.

Jordan De Goey wasn't considered for selection and has headed straight to Perth ahead of next week's second leg of the Pies' interstate hub, while Josh Daicos misses due to an ankle injury.

Ben Cunnington will miss his third game in four weeks for the Roos due to an ongoing back complaint, with Marley Williams a big-name casualty after three consecutive losses.  

Nat Fyfe is back for Fremantle after a hamstring strain with recruit Blake Acres to play his first game for the club against his old side St Kilda.

Griffin Logue (toe), Reece Conca (hamstring), Sam Sturt (ankle) and Jesse Hogan (calf) have been ruled out with Taylin Duman dropped. 

Zak Jones replaces Dan Hannebery (hamstring) at the Saints.
