POTENTIAL top-five pick Riley Thilthorpe booted two goals in West Adelaide's senior SANFL side last weekend as another draft bolter continues to emerge from South Australia.

Thilthorpe, who clubs view as a likely early pick at this year's NAB AFL Draft, has been playing in his club's senior side after the SANFL's restart last month following the league's COVID-19 shutdown.

The key forward hit the scoreboard with two majors against Sturt from 13 disposals, having averaged 10 disposals in his three games. Thilthorpe's athleticism has also seen him used up the ground and in the ruck at stages, with clubs excited by his development.

But while Thilthorpe has long been considered a probable top choice, another South Australian is catching the eye.

AFL recruiters, who are largely based in Victoria, have been watching the SANFL games online, with Woodville-West Torrens teenager Caleb Poulter bursting into draft calculations with a strong start to the season.

Poulter, an attacking midfielder with a penetrating left foot, had 34 disposals and a goal in round one of the SANFL's under-18 competition before gathering 29 disposals and booting two goals last week against Norwood.

The 190cm prospect's block of form has had scouts impressed as they search for live vision of this year's draft crop with uncertainty over when – and if – Victoria's top talents will take the field this season.

Potential Adelaide father-son selection Luke Edwards had 24 disposals in Glenelg's under-18s side, while Sturt midfielder Tom Powell, another who could push up the ranks, had 39 disposals, 14 clearances and eight inside-50s in a complete display.

Zac Dumesny's form at senior level for South Adelaide continued, with the midfielder racking up 19 disposals and a goal. Dumesny has averaged 15 disposals in his three senior SANFL appearances this season.

The Tasmanian State League made its return to action last weekend for its shortened season, with the state having several draft hopefuls on show.

Jackson Callow, a 194cm forward who kicked 24 goals from 14 NAB League games last year, again showed his marking prowess for North Launceston in its win over North Hobart.

Intercept defender Sam Collins and classy backman Patrick Walker were other Tasmanian draftees who got back on the field.

Last week's return to stage three lockdown in Victoria has cast doubt on how much clubs will be able to see of NAB League prospects, although the AFL is hoping to stage games featuring the Country prospects in August given they are outside the restrictions placed on metropolitan Melbourne.
