DUAL Richmond premiership utility Josh Caddy is in danger of missing the bulk of the remainder of the home and away season after scans confirmed he had suffered a hamstring injury.

The Tigers insist Caddy's latest soft tissue setback, sustained in Saturday's 54-point win over North Melbourne, will keep him sidelined for a 'medium term'.

Caddy was chasing a loose ball during the second term at Metricon Stadium before pulling up short mid-stride with a left hamstring complaint.

It is likely to cost the 27-year-old around 4-6 weeks which would equate to 5-8 matches in a season that is set to be condensed with 10 matches left.

Caddy missed the round two clash against Collingwood to restart the season following the shutdown with a minor calf complaint.

It is a blow to the Tigers who were already missing six premiership players in the win over the Roos.

They are a chance to welcome back Trent Cotchin (hamstring) and David Astbury (knee) for Friday night's Grand Final rematch against Greater Western Sydney.
