MARK Blicavs is more than happy to leave the inspirational stuff to Patrick Dangerfield against Fremantle this week.
With captain Joel Selwood sidelined through injury, the pair of co-vice captains will share the leaderships responsibilities against the Dockers at Optus Stadium on Monday.
"I haven't spoken to Paddy yet, (but) I'd be happy to do the coin toss and let Paddy do the speech," Blicavs said ahead of main training on Tuesday morning.
"I gave the boys a bit of a rev-up two days before the game against Collingwood (last week) and it was a train wreck.
THINGS WE LEARNED Cats struggle without their main man
"I didn't know what I was saying, we had a good laugh and joke about it. I might leave the speeches to Paddy.
"It went something about not being complacent … 'Small gaps as a pack here' or something.
"It was one where Scotty came up to me and said, 'The best speeches are not often planned, but a little bit of planning needs to go into them'."
Blicavs will also walk a little taller in defence with dual All-Australian Tom Stewart set to return exactly four weeks after surgery to repair a fractured collarbone.
His inclusion will somewhat offset the loss of Selwood (hamstring), Jordan Clark (shoulder) and Gary Ablett who has left the Cats' bubble to return home to Victoria.
THE FULL INJURY LIST Who is racing the clock?
"He's (Stewart) made a great recovery, it's amazing how quick he's come back and how strong he already looks from what happened," Blicavs said.
"I'm looking forward to him coming back, trying to take some intercept marks and his run off half-back is pretty entertaining, he always has some highlights in every game he plays. He's a young leader and great leader for our team."
Mitch Duncan is also expected to return from a hamstring injury sustained in round six.
Given the 11-day break, the Cats will be put through a big session on Tuesday before tapering off later in the week in anticipation of a flurry of matches off four and five-day breaks.
