Andy Otten has today taken another big step, literally, in his rehabilitation from a knee reconstruction.

Otten, who injured his knee in December, ran outside today for the first time since his surgery.

"I’m pretty excited for it, I’ve got to remember how to do that and I’m a bit nervous about it actually,” said Otten, who is four months into his one year rehabilitation program.

“I’ll probably be puffed after a lap; I don’t think I’ll have too much of a fitness base.”

“It’s more about form at the moment, just trying to get that technique back and trying not to run with a limp or anything because it is still a bit weaker. We’re just working on strengthening it up at the moment.”

Otten is one of the guests on the first edition of Adelaide’s new official podcast, hosted by Andrew McLeod.

The program, called “Down the Guts”, will be available to stream online or download on Wednesday afternoon.

It also features an interview with young Crow Tony Armstrong, who made his AFL debut on Sunday, McLeod’s wrap of round one, the latest news from the club and a segment hosted by Bernie Vince called Quick 60, when he fires questions at team-mates.
