Port Adelaide’s General Manager – Commercial Operations Steve Olech has accepted a new role as Group Commercial Manager at one of Australia’s leading radio networks, DMG Radio.

President Greg Boulton said it was an outstanding opportunity for one of the club’s key managers.

“Steve has been a huge asset to the Port Adelaide Football Club, and we are disappointed to have lost him,” Boulton said.

“We have certainly been guilty of the strength of the development of our people. Having seen what Steve has achieved in building the commercial side of our business, we know he will be a major asset at national level for DMG Radio."

Olech paid tribute to the club for his three years in the senior management position.

“I have absolutely loved my time at the Port Adelaide Football Club,” Olech said. “My family and I have been supporters our whole lives and to be part of the club for the past three years has been an absolute honour.

“It has been a very difficult decision for myself and my family because I am excited by the platform the club has set-up for itself to grow off-field in the coming years. We will have a major part to play in the AAMI Stadium development to change the football experience for Power fans and the development at Alberton Oval will give back to the community and open new doors for us commercially.

“DMG Radio as a group is going through a strong period of growth and looking to expand its commercial base. The opportunity to be part of that expansion from a national perspective while still able to stay in Adelaide was a challenge I felt compelled to take up.

“I have the Port Adelaide Football Club to thank for my development that has put me in a position to be able to get a role such as this one.”

DMG Radio includes the Nova network throughout Australia, as well as FiveAA in Adelaide.

Steve's last day with the club is Friday 26 September.
