Bio: An athletic defender with good pace, endurance and a strong attack on the ball, Hunt represented Vic Metro in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships and originally hails from Beaumaris FC.
Vic Metro U18 coach David Dickson says: He's an interesting one because no one really rated him at the start. I think he was just a player that a few people might have said 'he's just a good honest footballer'. I don't think he realised how good he was until he started really believing in himself. There was a game against South Australia where I said to him, James Strauss and Rory Sloane across the half-back line that SA would take us on in running the ball and we had to really beat them at their own game.
He took the ball at one point and ran it the length of the ground and kicked a goal from the forward pocket and I think that actual bit of play made everyone sit back and say 'how good is this kid?' He sat a few people on their arses and showed that he could play. I think the carnival was really the making of him and he loves a scrap and a challenge too.
