One of the main attractions at the Hawks Museum is listening to Club Legend John Kennedy’s famous speech from the 1975 Grand Final.
A cabinet facing the entrance to the Museum features Kennedy's famous coat as well as audio from the coaches address to the players prior to running onto the ground for the 1975 Grand Final.
George Haddon, former cartoonist for the Herald newspaper this year offered his wonderful drawings of Hawthorn players from the 1970s to the Club Collection.
He was subsequently shown illustrations clipped from the Herald newspaper that he had drawn from 1975, kept by the Hawks Museum.
One was of Kennedy being carried by Leigh Matthews and Don Scott.
After George heard the recorded Kennedy speech, conversation lead to a possibility of a t-shirt with the celebrated Kennedy quote emblazoned upon it, “Don’t think … DO!”.
George, a passionate Hawks supporter, was delighted to re-do the drawing.
He added colour to the original drawing and re-drew Kennedy holding a Premiership Cup aloft with the famous quote inscribed.
The t-shirt comes in three colours, white, gold or brown and are a bargain at $34.95.
Sizes range from small, medium, large, x-large and 2x-large and are available for purchase at the Hawks Museum, in the Hawks Nest or at HawksNest Online.
