STAR West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr is out for the rest of the season, after the club decided to book the talented ball magnet in for knee surgery.
Kerr, 25, has damaged the cartilage behind his right knee cap and will undergo the season ending operation this week.
The club believes the injury is similar to the one that ended the year of Brett Jones a couple of weeks ago.
In an article on the club's website, Kerr said he was hoping the suspension he served between rounds 16 and 18 would enable him to play out the season.
However, he has been unable to cope with just training in the past three weeks, and will have the operation before resting for the remaining four rounds.
Kerr joins a stable of West Coast players including Jones, Beau Waters, Mitch Brown, Chris Masten and Adam Hunter that will not play again this year.
