Ash: No, not at all. On any given day a bottom team can play like a top side, and you have to be prepared for that or you will be ambushed. If you fall for that one, you will lose. Every match is still a game of footy and you should be motivated to enjoy it.
Hi Ash. What game has been your favourite win this year? – Benny from Kenmore, Qld
Ash: That’s a hard one. Every win is enjoyable. Probably last weekend’s win was the best one because it was a real grind and we got up against a top four team.
Hey Ash. What’s the funniest thing you have ever heard someone from the crowd say? – Matho from Alex Hills, Qld
Ash: I don’t know if I can write it. Actually, I copped a good one last week at the Gabba, would you believe. There was a pack of Crows down at the end where the opposition supporters always sit and they gave me heaps about being a seagull and skirting around the edges. I had to laugh to myself because some guy starting making seagull noises after a while and he was pretty good.
G’day Ash. What can you tell me about the new guy Tom Collier? – Spud from Hobart
Ash: He’s a good kid. He’s a Tassie boy and he’s pretty quiet around the group, and he doesn’t open up until you get him by himself. He’s going to be a good talent.
Do you reckon you and the boys will make it to the finals and will Bradshaw win the Coleman? – Jacques from Watsonia North, Vic
Ash: We’re pretty optimistic about the way we are going. We’ve got three games straight against teams below us on the ladder, so if we can get the record up to 11-5, we should make it. As for ‘Big Guns’ Bradshaw, I reckon the time out he’s had through injury is going to cost him the Coleman. Franklin and Fevola have got a bit too far in front now.
