AFTER beating West Coast by 35 points on Saturday, Hawthorn defender Campbell Brown says that the club enjoys playing in Tasmania more than ever.

"We really love it … It's my favourite ground in the competition," Brown told SEN radio after the game.

"The wide open space is terrific for our style of game - we like to run the ball, and use the corridor, so the bigger the ground, the better," Brown said.

"It’s a real home ground advantage for us… It is a pretty long flight for the WA boys, so it definitely works in our advantage."

Brown said that after beating West Coast's centre half-forward Ashley Hansen, he didn't know who he would play on next week when the Hawks play Port Adelaide.

"He [Alastair Clarkson] tries to get to me by about Tuesday, and give me a heads-up on who I might get, so I can start mentally preparing for it. It helps me out," Brown said.

"I'm enjoying my footy at the moment, I'm enjoying getting the big jobs, and hopefully I can continue the form."

Asked whether he could line up on Port Adelaide's star forward Warren Tredrea, Brown said it was an unlikely match-up.

"I wouldn't have thought so. I'll leave him for Croady [Trent Croad]," he said.

"We said this would be a season-defining month for us, we've got Port next week and we haven't beaten them since the 2001 semi-final I think, so it's another huge game for us," Brown said.

Teammate Brad Sewell deserved plenty of credit for the Hawks' win over the Eagles, after performing well on Chris Judd, Brown said.

"You're never going to be able to stop Chris Judd influencing a game, but [today] it was the way he [Judd] got his possessions. He got a lot of them under pressure, and a lot of them in the back half. Sewell was instrumental, I thought," Brown said.
