The newly elected Minister for Sport and Recreation, Hugh Delahuntly, visited St Kilda’s Linen House Centre in Frankston yesterday morning.
The minister was taken on a comprehensive tour of the state-of-the-art training and administration facility by St Kilda Football Club CEO Michael Nettlefold and President Greg Westaway.
Mr Delahuntly enjoyed seeing the Club in its day-to-day operations and was impressed with the new headquarters, which boasts modern recovery facilities, high quality indoor and outdoor training arenas and comfortable new administration offices.
The Minister for Sport also met a number of St Kilda players during his morning visit and even took the chance to shoot a basketball with Saints Captain Nick Riewoldt in the Club’s indoor gymnasium.
St Kilda was the first football club the State Minister has visited. As part of his new position Mr Delahuntly will be making appearances at every Victorian AFL club, as well as a number of other sporting organisations throughout the state.
