The pair replaces Matt Thomas – who was hit with a one match ban for making contact with an umpire – and Wade Thompson, who has been dropped despite an improved performance against the Hawks.
General Manager – Football Operations Peter Rohde said the conditions expected for Friday night’s game suited the in-and-under types – like Nick Lower.
“Thompson’s second game was an improvement and we hope he’ll come back into the team at some stage this year, but given the wet weather we’re expecting combined with Nick Lower’s form in the SANFL, we had to make a change,” Rohde said.
“We’ve got plenty of flexibility in the team, so I don’t think we’ll have a problem switching a few players’ roles to cover the omission of a forward. On top of that, it’s probably not going to be perfect conditions for a forward anyway, so to get another bloke in that can play in the midfield will help.
“Shaun still didn’t come up – he’s still struggling with his leg – but we’re hopeful he’ll be right for next week.”
