The 2010 AFL Premiership Cup will continue its national tour spending its first Easter in Mansfield, located in Victoria’s high country.

The Premiership Cup will spend Saturday morning at the bush market before taking in the local footy, watching Mansfield compete against reigning premiers Shepparton United.

1990 Collingwood premiership player and current Mansfield coach Craig Kelly is thrilled to be the Premiership Cup’s caretaker for the weekend.

‘The Collingwood Football club and CEO Gary Pert has been great supporters of the Mansfield region and we’re really excited to share the cup with all of Mansfield’s locals and visitors,’ said Kelly.

‘Mansfield triples in size over Easter making it a big weekend for both the town and the footy club, so it’s great time to have the greatest prize in Australian sport around’.

On Sunday the Premiership Cup will join legends of Aussie rock James Reyne, Mark Seymour, Daryl Braithwaite and The Black Sorrows at Mansfield’s inaugural Music Festival: Rivers & Peaks.

‘I imagine that as soon as Mark Seymour hears that the cup is coming to town, he’ll want it on stage for his performance of ‘Holy Grail’’, predicted Kelly.
