Chris Newman (Richmond)
– Worked tirelessly in both zones against North Melbourne.

Brian Lake (Western Bulldogs) – Quelled the influence of Essendon skipper Matthew Lloyd on Friday night.

Matthew Scarlett (Geelong) – Held Russell Robertson to just seven touches and two behinds and had 30 disposals and a team-high five rebounds. 

HALF BACKS
Heath Shaw (Collingwood)
– Played his best match for the season, finishing with an equal round-high nine rebounds and 32 disposals, including a game-high 12 contested possessions.

Chad Cornes (Port Adelaide) – In just his second game back, after being sidelined for four matches with a knee injury, Cornes shone with 27 disposals and nine marks against the West Coast Eagles. He also had a game-high seven rebounds.

Corey Enright (Geelong) – Instrumental in Geelong's seven-goal to zip opening term, Enright won eight disposals and kept playmaker Aaron Davey to two touches during that period. Enright finished with 24 possessions, with his ball use again a highlight.

CENTRES
Daniel Rich (Brisbane Lions)
– Produced a best-on-ground display against Fremantle, accumulating 31 disposals. His coach Michael Voss said post-match: "[He] would probably have to be the unluckiest person in history not to win the rising star this year."

Luke Hodge (Hawthorn) – Best-on-ground with a team and season-high 34 disposals, had a game-best seven inside 50s and kicked three goals.

Joel Selwood (Geelong) – His best match of the season, he won 31 disposals, including an equal game-high 12 contested possessions. Selwood also laid nine tackles and had nine inside 50s.

HALF-FORWARDS
Mitch Hahn (Western Bulldogs)
– Far and away his best performance of the season, Hahn booted five goals, including four in the second half, when the Dogs broke away. His marking was a highlight, with four of his six grabs contested.

Nick Riewoldt (St Kilda) – Was locked in a fine dual with fellow All-Australian Nathan Bock. Although the Crow had 28 touches, Riewoldt booted four goals from nine scoring shots and had three scoring assists.  

Ryan O'Keefe (Sydney Swans) – Won 33 disposals, and laid an incredible 14 tackles. He also kicked two goals to be one of the best afield, in his side’s loss to Carlton.

FORWARDS
Paul Chapman (Geelong)
– He was one of Geelong's most influential with 31 disposals. Chapman also had a round-high 12 inside 50s, laid five tackles and kicked a goal. 

Brendan Fevola (Carlton) – Kicked five goals against the Swans, taking his total to 60 for the season and sees him leading the Coleman Medal race.

Lance Franklin (Hawthorn) – Kicked five goals from nine scoring shots on Saturday. He had a career-best 24 disposals for the second successive week.

FOLLOWERS
Mitch Clark (Brisbane Lions)
– Continued his fine season with a career-best 37 hit-outs, eclipsing his previous best of 33 against Carlton in round 11. The big man also laid seven tackles and had five inside 50s.

Chris Judd (Carlton) – Further enhanced his Brownlow Medal prospects with 26 disposals, including a game-high 15 contested possessions. He also booted a cracking goal, using his breakaway pace to kick truly.

Gary Ablett (Geelong) – Amassed 40 disposals – the fourth time he has achieved 40 or more this season – and also kicked two goals from five scoring shots.

INTERCHANGE
Jason Davenport (Port Adelaide)
– Best-on-ground in just his sixth match for the Power, Davenport had 26 touches, laid nine tackles, booted two goals and had three scoring assists.

Brent Harvey (North Melbourne) – Instrumental in lifting his side to a draw after it trailed by 43 points at the eight-minute mark in the third term. He won 10 of his 31 disposals in the final term and also kicked two last quarter goals. 

Farren Ray (St Kilda) – Not only played his finest match for the Saints, but the best of his 90-game AFL career. Ray amassed a career-best 39 disposals, including 12 in the opening term. He also took 13 marks and laid five tackles.

Domenic Cassisi (Port Adelaide) – Had 26 disposals, including a game-high 10 contested possessions and a match-best 15 tackles. Cassisi also had six clearances.
