It may not have been the result Kangaroos' fans wanted on Saturday against St Kilda, but for 200 kids it was a day of fun and excitement anyway thanks to LeasePlan’s Carn the Kids program.

Partnering with the North Melbourne Football Club in 2009, the program has been providing children who may not have otherwise had the opportunity, fun days since 2003.

At Docklands on Saturday, Kangaroo players Ed Lower and Marcus White were on hand to greet the kids with showbags, t-shirts and signed magazines before they went inside to enjoy the game.

The Carn the Kids program has been supported over the years through partnerships with the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne Victory and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra – and now North Melbourne. These partnerships and the event opportunities they create have allowed more than 14,000 kids and carers to attend more than 30 ‘fun days out’ all around Australia.

Carn the Kids will host ‘fun days out’ at two more North Melbourne games in 2009, hosting a total of 1000 children and carers.
