PORT Adelaide's All Australian onballer Robbie Gray is a doubtful starter for Sunday's Showdown against Adelaide.
Gray missed the Power's eight-point win against Hawthorn on Saturday night because of a calf injury.
"He's pain free today, which is obviously a very good sign, but we won't run him until Thursday, so we won't know until then," Port's high performance manager Darren Burgess told the club's website on Monday.
Burgess cleared Jared Polec to play after the winger was substituted on Saturday night carrying an ankle problem.
"He has got some ongoing ankle issues that were managing," Burgess said.
The club's win over the Hawks highlighted its depth should Gray fail to prove his fitness ahead of the Showdown.
The Power were also missing Ollie Wines last Saturday night, but Aaron Young was sensational as a replacement inside midfielder with 25 possessions, a goal and five clearances.
Skipper Travis Boak played his best game of the year, while Hamish Hartlett, Brad Ebert and Chad Wingard were all able to rise to the occasion.
Vice-captain Matthew Lobbe said their performances showcased the club's strength.
"Guys can step up when they're asked to – I think Youngy's stepped up the last two few weeks, Trav played a massive role," he said.
"Kenny (Hinkley) always talks about how as a team we're playing against the other side, it's not an individual battle.
"We can a bit of confidence out of that, that even if two of our key players are gone we can still perform."
Lobbe also called on the club's fans to remain respectful after an incident involving Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson late on Saturday night.
The Port fan, who was accompanied by two of his friends, edged close to Clarkson and shouted, "Go the Power!", prompting the coach to forcefully push the man away with an open hand.
"We want our fans to be respectful to everyone – it's fine to have bit of banter with the opposition, but obviously he went a bit too far to provoke Clarko," he said.
