FORGOTTEN Collingwood small forward Tim Broomhead is on the cusp of senior selection as the Pies prepare for several changes to face Sydney on Thursday night.
THE FULL INJURY LIST Who is racing the clock?
Broomhead last played for the Pies 859 days ago when he broke his left leg running into the goalpost at the MCG in a round two clash with Greater Western Sydney in 2018.
Key defender Jordan Roughead will return after he was left out of last week's loss to Fremantle, but there remains no clear timeline on Scott Pendlebury playing after a quad setback.
Coach Nathan Buckley confirmed Jack Crisp would slot back into defence after being used as a midfielder in the past two matches.
THE LADDER Where is your team sitting?
The Pies sit outside the top eight and are hoping to put a tumultuous week behind them – which included Buckley and assistant Brenton Sanderson being fined for a COVID-19 breach – after flying from Perth to Queensland.
"Winning and losing has an impact on the psyche of the group and the atmosphere, so we were a little bit sombre," Buckley said on Wednesday.
"Jumping on the plane and getting over here brought more than a touch of light, given the boys ran into their families on Monday night. It was quite emotional actually."
Teams for the date with the Swans will be named at 6.20pm AEST on Wednesday, with Buckley acknowledging the need to rest players off a four-day break.

"We will omit players out of this week's 22 for that reason, to make sure we have the freshest, hungriest 22 to take on Sydney," he said.
"We began a policy of sharing the load last week with our selection and that will continue."
Buckley added he will return to the coaches' box against the Swans after coaching from the boundary line against the Dockers.
