RICHMOND players Nick Vlastuin and Jayden Short have apologised to teammate Mabior Chol after they were accused - in an interesting press conference on Friday - of groping him.

Veteran Channel Ten reporter Hugh Riminton questioned Tigers coach Damien Hardwick multiple times about the players' behaviour, before Hardwick abruptly cut his media appointment short.

The post-game incidents occurred when Richmond players were singing the club's theme song.

The vision was circulated on social media and showed Short grabbing at Chol's genitals following the win over the Bulldogs, and Vlastuin grabbing at Chol's backside after the win over the Lions.

Richmond's statement released later on Friday said: "It had become aware of some player behaviour during post-match team songs recently that is unacceptable and not in line with the club or community expectations."

"It was a stupid action and I am deeply embarrassed. I've apologised to Mabior," Vlastuin said.

"It was unacceptable behaviour and a poor example," Short said.

Chol said he took no offence and had "no issue whatsoever with those players, or any of my teammates".

The statement said: "The entire playing group have made clear this behaviour will cease. Richmond is committed to providing a safe workplace environment and will continue to work to ensure that is the case."
