• The draft pool: Cal Twomey analyses this year's best prospects
• NAB AFL Draft Combine: latest news and video
DRAFT prospects Ben Ainsworth, Jarrod Berry and Sam Petrevski-Seton will be profiled over the next three weeks in the return of AFL.com.au's Going Places series.
AFL.com.au has tracked the trio from the start of this year through to now as each has faced different challenges and obstacles in his path to the NAB AFL Draft.
The players' stories will be broken into two parts and published on AFL.com.au over two days in the next three weeks, and include an exclusive video to partner the text series.
All three prospects confronted issues across the year as they attempted to back-up brilliant bottom-aged years in 2015, when they were named in the under-18 All Australian side.
Ainsworth's story commences on Wednesday, as we follow the small forward through a difficult year that included injuries and suspensions but saw him hit top form late in the season.
Going Places uncovers where the talented Victorian would like to be drafted and how he came to terms with the pressure he placed on himself at the start of the year.
Berry, Ainsworth's Vic Country teammate, also struggled with different injury concerns this season but is seen as one of the best leaders in the draft pool and juggled his football with life at boarding school in Ballarat.
Petrevski-Seton has had a different upbringing to the Victorian pair, growing up in Halls Creek in the Kimberley region in remote Western Australia. He has had to shift to Perth to follow his football dream, and has been labelled a likely early draft choice for three years.
The Going Places series highlights the dueling forces of being a highly rated draft prospect: the stresses and anxiety of being on the cusp of an AFL career, and also the excitement of living out a long-held goal of being an elite footballer.
This is the third season of the Going Places series, after AFL.com.au tracked Darcy Tucker, Callum Ah Chee, Ryan Burton and Harley Balic throughout last season and Christian Petracca, Paddy McCartin, Jarrod Pickett and Lachie Weller in 2014.
