The Saints have been given a warm welcome in Ballarat, with the community putting on a civic reception upon the team's arrival yesterday afternoon.
Ballarat Mayor, Stephen Jones officially welcomed St Kilda Football Club, as the team prepared to spend three days in the region as part of the AFL Community Camps.
St Kilda CEO, Archie Fraser addressed the crowd at the civic reception and said the Club was excited to be back in Ballarat, a town where the Saints have a strong history.
"Across the span of 14 seasons between 1978 to 1991, no less than nine St Kilda Best and Fairests were won by Ballarat boys. This included Graeme Gellie, Jeff Dunne (twice), Peter Kiel, Greg Burns (twice), Tony Lockett (twice) and Danny Frawley" Fraser said.
Fraser also added. "We look forward to an action packed three days here in Ballarat and to offering the opportunity for fans to see and meet their favourite players".
During their stay, Saints players will conduct clinics, school and hospitals visits, and participate in community forums. The team will also train with local players from the North Ballarat Rebels.
