PROMISING Hawthorn youngster Will Day has signed a contract extension with the club for an extra two seasons.
The Hawks' No.13 pick in last year's NAB AFL Draft has added two years onto his current deal, tying him to the club until at least the end of 2023. He was not due to fall out of contract until the end of 2021.

Day has been one of the Hawks' brightest spots since making his debut in round six, with the smart and tough defender showing great composure off half-back.
Hawks football boss Graham Wright said the club was rapt to ink an early extension for one of its most exciting talents.
"Will has had a fantastic start to his career, he's only six games in but he's already a really important player for us," Wright said.

"2020 has been a season like no other, but Will has taken it in his stride and adapted to AFL level and all that comes with it really quickly.
"He has settled into the club nicely and is well respected among his peers, the broader playing group and coaches. Will’s a mature young man and a real asset to the club."
Day is the grandson of 1971 Hawks premiership player Robert Day.
