GEELONG has been forced to make a late change to its line-up prior to the Friday night showdown against the Western Bulldogs with midfielder Cameron Guthrie pulling out of the side through illness.
Guthrie has been replaced in the team by speedster Jordan Murdoch, who did not play any football last weekend as he was the carryover emergency for the Cats' clash with Essendon.
Guthrie suffered a virus on Friday and was given until the last minute to prove he was right to play, but ultimately did not come up.
The midfielder should be fit for next Thursday night's clash against Port Adelaide at Simonds Stadium.
Guthrie also missed rounds one and two with a calf injury he sustained in the JLT Community Series against Hawthorn in February.
