FANTASY coaches will be sweating on any news they can find around the health of Patrick Dangerfield before lockout. The superstar Cat has been named in the midfield for Sunday’s game against the Roos but is no certainty to line up.
Dangerfield was hampered last week with an ankle injury in the first quarter and then landed awkwardly in the second to injure his knee, but played out the game.
Taylor Adams (adductor) will miss the next month, while teammate Dayne Beams (hip) won’t line up this week leaving holes in the Pies’ engine room. Unique midfielder Brayden Fiorini (knee) showed great form up until he was restricted last week by injury and the Mark Hutchings tag.
Ollie Wines (leg), Brad Ebert (concussion) and Bryce Gibbs (back) are out of the Showdown.
Coaches taking the punt on Shane Mumford (knee) will be happy with his $102k price increase, however, he must be upgraded this week.
Fantasy Draft stars returning to help their owners out include Josh Kelly, Joel Selwood and Matthew Kreuzer.
Lachie Whitfield hasn’t been named for the Giants, making it now two weeks on the sidelines following his corked thigh in round six.

Adam Treloar (MID, $763,000)
Is a high priority target now that Taylor Adams looks set to be sidelined for at least six weeks and here is why: When Adams isn’t out there with him, his last seven scores are 134, 126, 135, 122, 147, 125 and 152. On top of this, he plays against the Blues. He gave us a preview of things to come last week when he scored 37 points in the first half but pumped out a lazy 80+ in the second half after Adams went down. He has a breakeven of 118 which he should cover given the circumstances.
Jack Ziebell (FWD, $535,000)
The powerful Roo has had a significant role change into the middle of the ground over the past two weeks, matching up on the oppositions best onballer. His scoring speaks for itself in that time with 100 and 105 compared to his season average of 77.
Josh Dunkley (FWD/MID, $605,000)
It seems too good to be true. Dunkley was finally back in the midfield, attending the most centre bounces for the Dogs and his scoring reflected that with a season-high 145. If that role continues, he is a bargain with a breakeven of 57.

Tom Liberatore (MID, $550,000)
After a disappointing 57, many coaches gave Libba another chance in a dream matchup with the Tigers who give up a heap of Fantasy points. Unfortunately it backfired in a big way, scoring just 39 for 33 per cent of the competition.
Marc Murphy (MID, $671,000)
Has had an up and down season highlighted by a vintage game against the Suns where he scored 135 but his 57 against the Roos is cause for real concern and leaves him with a breakeven of 133 leading into a game against the restrictive Pies.
Taylor Adams (MID, $627,000)
Adams was coming off two scores over 115 in his last three weeks before injury struck against the Power and he has been ruled out for a minimum of four weeks which makes him a must trade.
Calvin’s Captains
No. 1 – Brodie Grundy v Carlton
Every ruckman (expect McEvoy) who has played Carlton this year has had their best score for the season. Overall they have averaged 112. Grundy scored 103 and 141 against the Blues last year and will be huge this week.
No. 2 – Nat Fyfe v Richmond
Fresh off a great 124 last week, it’s now Fyfe’s turn to host the Tigers at home. Richmond is currently giving up the most 100+ scores for the year and the second most points to midfielders. Fyfe scored 128 on the Tigers last year and is set for another massive score.
No. 3 – Scott Pendlebury v Carlton
The veteran goes for his ninth straight 100+ score on the Blues this week and stands as the most in-form player in the game, averaging 122 over the last three weeks.
No. 4 – Clayton Oliver v Gold Coast
Midfielders rack up plenty against the Suns just like Yeo (146), Gaff (144), Shuey (128), Redden (120) and Sheed (116) did last week. Oliver scored 154 against them last year and should be great in this one.
No. 5 – Tom Rockliff v Adelaide
Last year against the Crows, Rocky scored 127 and 69. Back when he played for Brisbane, he used to give the Crows a bath with scores of 127, 140 and 180. Ignore his last score of 69, because at home he’s a different pig.
