Shaun Hampson goes down in the VFL, while overlooked Tigers press their claims

Carlton big man Shaun Hampson has limped from the ground and had his knee assessed during the Northern Blues' VFL clash against Essendon at Windy Hill on Sunday.
Hampson, who has not played for Carlton since round seven, went down after making a chase on the wing late in the first quarter. The severity of any injury is not known at this stage.
Carlton trio Matthew Watson, Troy Menzel and Nick Duigan all impressed with the club's VFL affiliate and were named in the best.
For Essendon, Joe Daniher and Corey Dell'Olio booted four goals each, with Alwyn Davey and Nathan Lovett-Murray kicking two apiece in the Bombers' 69-point win.
Richmond has options at the selection table this week after strong performances from Luke McGuane and Matthew Arnot, who kicked two goals each for VFL affiliate Coburg.
Midfielder Shane Tuck continued his return from a shoulder injury and was named in the Tigers' best, alongside Robin Nahas, Sam Lonergan and Ricky Petterd.

After being squeezed out of Fremantle's side to accommodate the club's returning stars, ruckman Jack Hannath and midfielder Viv Michie responded in the WAFL with strong performances for Peel Thunder.
Hannath had 48 hit-outs, while Michie finished with 23 possessions, four inside 50s and a goal in the Thunder's 16-point loss to West Perth.
Fremantle forward Matt Taberner booted two goals for Peel, while defender Peter Faulks, who had 19 possessions and seven marks, was named in the Thunder's best.
Former Docker Jay van Berlo (25 possessions) and draft hopeful Shane Nelson (31) drove the Falcons' win.
Fremantle midfielder Lachie Neale continued his push for a return to senior football with 34 possessions and two goals for Swan Districts.
West Coast small forward Murray Newman (two goals) and overlooked teenage star Dayle Garlett (four goals) were also strong performers for Swans in their 89-point win over Perth.
The Eagles' WAFL alignment club East Perth had a bye, with the majority of West Coast's second-tier players having the week off.
However, Sharrod Wellingham returned from a serious ankle injury through the Claremont reserves, finishing with 23 possessions to push his case for a recall in next Sunday's derby clash against Fremantle.

COLLINGWOOD midfielder Dayne Beams has made a fairytale return to football, kicking the match-winner in the Magpies' seven-point win over Box Hill in the VFL on Saturday.
In his first game since injuring his quadriceps before the start of the season, Beams dominated with a 28-possession performance.
Beams then kicked two final term goals, including a crucial snap to get the Magpies over the line in a nail-biting victory.
Tyson Goldsack also returned from injury with eight disposals.
Marty Clarke finished the game with 34 touches, while Kyle Martin had 26 possessions and kicked two goals.
Young ruckman Brodie Grundy impressed with 28 hit-outs and two goals in a solo performance against Box Hill's Sam Grimley and Luke Lowden.
Jackson Paine was also a shining light, with two goals and 10 marks.
For Box Hill, Kyle Cheney was solid in defence, while Lowden and Grimely each finished with a goal.
Meanwhile, Geelong ruckman Nathan Vardy was knocked out in the opening minutes of the Cats' 74-point win over the Northern Bullants at Simonds Stadium.
He was stretchered off the ground, but returned to the bench to watch the rest of the game.
The club said he had been cleared of serious injury.
George Horlin-Smith dominated with 23 possessions and three goals, while Billie Smedts and Trent West kicked one each.
All three were named in the bests.
Travis Varcoe (shoulder) and Jared Rivers (knee) made their long-awaited returns from injury, and both emerged unscathed.
Varcoe finished with seven touches, while Rivers had eight, including four marks.

Adelaide forward Ian Callinan had 19 possessions and a goal in Central District's win over West Adelaide.
Port Adelaide's Sam Colquhoun was dominant in that game, with 26 touches and a goal.
In the day's other game, Crows midfielder Richard Tambling was solid with 24 touches and a goal in Sturt's loss to South Adelaide.
NEAFL Brisbane Lions forward Jordan Lisle bounced back after being dropped by the Lions, kicking five goals in a strong display for the club's reserves side.
Teammate Patrick Karnezis was one of the side's best in a 15. 17 (107) to 13. 7 (85) win over rival Gold Coast.
Young Suns star Jack Martin was his team's best player.
