BRISBANE youngster Brandon Starcevich has quietly pieced together an exciting season in the Lions' back half, but now the improving defender has earned his moment in the spotlight.
RISING STARSĀ Who's been nominated?
The third-year Lion is the round 13 NAB AFL Rising Star nominee after an impressive performance in his side's two-point win over St Kilda on Sunday.
The 21-year-old had 10 disposals off half-back as he continued his development as a trusted member of the premiership contender's defence.
The West Australian has played every game for the Lions this season and settled in as a valued member with his sharp skills and ability to read the play.
Starcevich has had to work his way into coach Chris Fagan's side, having registered a total of five games in his first two seasons with the club.
TALL, ATHLETIC AND VERSATILEĀ 25 of the best draft prospects
But he broke into the Lions' side for their round one loss to Hawthorn and has remained there this year as Brisbane sets itself for a tilt at the flag.
Brisbane drafted Starcevich with pick 18 at the 2017 NAB AFL Draft.
