- Pies unveil two debutants to take on Hawks
- Suns welcome back big guns to face Roos
- Majak Daw in for first game of the season
COLLINGWOOD will blood two debutants in the furnace of Friday night's blockbuster clash with Hawthorn, while superstar Gary Ablett's long-awaited return has brightened a dark day for Gold Coast.
Ablett headlines a host of big names returning for round 14, including teammate David Swallow, Cyril Rioli at Hawthorn and Geelong star Jimmy Bartel.
But the Magpies have turned to youth, bringing in son-of-a-gun Darcy Moore and Brayden Maynard for the Hawks clash.
The exciting youngsters replace Anzac Day medallist Paul Seedsman, who has been omitted, and Tyson Goldsack (knee).
Moore, the son of dual Brownlow medallist Peter, has impressed at VFL level this season after being taken with pick No.9 in last year's NAB AFL Draft.
The 19-year-old booted three goals against Hawthorn's VFL affiliate Box Hill last round, while polished left-footer Maynard gathered 24 touches.
The Hawks have replaced key bookends Jarryd Roughead and James Frawley with Matt Spangher and Ryan Schoenmakers for the clash between fourth and fifth on the ladder.
Roughead is likely to miss at least two weeks after having a melanoma removed from his lip, while Frawley is set for up to a month on the sidelines due to a dislocated left shoulder.
Spangher is back for his first game this year, while Rioli is also a welcome addition after he attended a funeral in Darwin and missed last round's win over Essendon.
Speedy wingman Billy Hartung has been omitted by the Hawks.
Meanwhile, Gold Coast will finally welcome back Ablett for the first time since round two - after his recovery from shoulder soreness - against North Melbourne on Saturday at Metricon Stadium.
Emerging star Swallow, rookie Keegan Brooksby and Aaron Hall also come into the team.
Troubled Suns midfielder Harley Bennell has been left out to focus on his wellbeing after a photo of him with illicit substances from 2013 was published on the front page of newspapers on Thursday.
Jarrod Harbrow (ankle), Andrew Raines and Sean Lemmens also go out of the team which lost to Carlton last round and is anchored to the bottom of the ladder.
North Melbourne has made just one change, bringing in Majak Daw for his first game this season in place of omitted key forward Ben Brown.
John Barker's rejuvenated Carlton outfit has lost three key players to injury for its contest against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium on Saturday night.
Sam Docherty (hamstring), Troy Menzel (knee) and Andrew Carrazzo (toe) all go out of the team which is gunning for three straight wins.
After being left out last round, veteran defender Michael Jamison earns a recall, with a pair of young West Australians – Blaine Boekhorst and upgraded rookie Blaine Johnson – also coming into the 22.
The Bulldogs will be without young key forward Tom Boyd to knee soreness, bringing in Jack Redpath as his replacement.
Mitch Honeychurch has been recalled and 167cm South Adelaide product Caleb Daniel, the League's shortest player, will make his debut after being recruited at pick 46 last year.
First-year players Bailey Dale and Lukas Webb have been dropped from the team which could consolidate its spot in the top eight with a third-straight win.
After back-to-back losses, Greater Western Sydney coach Leon Cameron has wielded the selection axe for the crucial meeting with Richmond at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
The Giants have dropped former No.2 draft pick Josh Kelly, defender Tomas Bugg and Nathan Wilson, while versatile backman Nick Haynes (groin) is injured.
Tom Scully headlines the inclusions, alongside Curtly Hampton for his second game this year, Adam Kennedy and 203cm ruckman Tom Downie, who is set to make his debut after he was drafted with pick 56 in 2011.
The Tigers are unchanged from their fighting win over the Sydney Swans at the SCG.
West Coast's trio of sore players – including key defenders Will Schofield and Jeremy McGovern - have all recovered over the bye to be fit to face Melbourne in Darwin on Saturday night.
Schofield (glute), McGovern (corked leg) and small forward Jamie Cripps (corked leg) have all been named with the veteran Sam Butler replacing the omitted Matt Rosa in the Eagles' only change.
Paul Roos' Demons have made two changes to the team which stunned Geelong before the bye, bringing in rising star Jesse Hogan and defender Col Garland.
Heritier Lumumba (foot) and Aidan Riley (omitted) go out of the side.
St Kilda could hand draftee Hugh Goddard his first game after naming the young defender in an extended squad to face Essendon on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.
Sam Fisher, Tom Hickey and elevated rookie Jack Sinclair also come into the squad, with only Luke Delaney omitted at this stage.
Goddard has impressed in defence for Sandringham since he was recruited from the Geelong Falcons with pick 21 in the 2014 draft.
Essendon has lost Jake Carlisle (ankle) for at least a month, and the tall forward is at this stage the only out from the side which lost to Hawthorn.
David Zaharakis is finally back after an ankle issue, while Ben Howlett, Alex Browne and Ariel Steinberg are also into the 25-man squad for Sunday's game.
Geelong has welcomed back Bartel from a knee injury for the first time since round three for its vital clash with the Crows at Adelaide Oval.
Ruckman Dawson Simpson is in the frame to play his first game after a shoulder issue, while Billie Smedts and possible debutant Jarrad Jansen have also been named.
Darcy Lang (quad) is the Cats' only omission at this stage.
The Crows have named Brodie Martin, Ricky Henderson, Jarryd Lyons, Rory Atkins, Riley Knight and Jake Lever in their 25-man squad.
Confirmed outs so far are Rory Sloane (fractured cheekbone), Kyle Cheney (back) and Jake Kelly (omitted).
In the final match of the round, the Brisbane Lions will play Fremantle at Domain Stadium without star Pearce Hanley (hamstring), ruckman Stefan Martin (suspension) and Ryan Harwood (calf).
Brent Staker, Mitch Golby, Ryan Lester, Sam Mayes, Darcy Gardiner and Zac O'Brien come into the Lions' squad for the huge task in Perth.
The League-leading Dockers have added Zac Clarke, Paul Duffield, Tendai Mzungu and Matt Taberner, with only Jack Hannath omitted at this stage.
