Stanley pulled up sore following the Cats' win over the Bulldogs and is in doubt despite the nine-day break. Darcy Fort will be available to return from a foot injury, having missed Saturday's scratch match through illness. Tuohy will need to be monitored after copping a heavy knock to his chest. Selwood is no certainty to play despite training strongly on Tuesday, with the Cats taking a more conservative approach with the skipper. Kreuger has returned home for a further clean-up on his knee that will rule him out for the remainder of the season. Ablett touches down in Queensland on Tuesday to begin his 14-day quarantine that will allow him to re-join teammates on September 15. - Mitch Cleary

 Sydney Stack  Hip  Test
Updated: Tuesday, September 1

Early prognosis

Grimes will miss at least one match with the hamstring injury suffered against West Coast last week. In good news it's not a serious strain, so the All-Australian defender could be in the mix for next week's blockbuster against Geelong. Lambert should also be fine for the Cats clash with the club taking a cautious approach with his minor hip injury. Prestia was put on an intravenous drip to clear up some infection in his ankle and he now looks unlikely to feature before finals, while Caddy has had a setback in regaining his spot after suffering hamstring tightness. Astbury is tracking along better and will be eyeing round 18 against Adelaide for his return. Stack will be tested this week after a minor hip injury, while Coleman-Jones and Garthwaite will be available for match play next week. Wood and Vandermeer both succumbed to hamstring injuries in the round 14 clash against Geelong. Wood should be available for the Dogs last one or two games in the home and away season, but Vandermeer will be hoping the side makes finals if he is to be a chance to return. Zaine Cordy was dominant in a scratch match against the Cats, while Taylor Duryea got through his first game of 2020 with no issues. - Jourdan Canil
