COLLINGWOOD star Jamie Elliott has been dealt yet another setback after re-injuring his left hamstring in the VFL on Sunday.
Playing against North Melbourne, a dejected Elliott walked from the field at the 22nd minute of the final term after laying a strong tackle that won him a free kick.
He is set to have scans on Monday.
THIRD TIME UNLUCKY Injury-hit Pie set for another knee reco
Elliott has endured a wretched run with injury in recent times.
He missed the entire 2016 season with back problems, before an ankle issue kept him sidelined until round four last year, and ankle and hamstring issues have cruelled the 25-year-old's 2018 campaign (he has not played a single game at AFL level all season).
While the full extent of Elliott's latest injury is unknown, it is one the Pies can ill-afford.
Already with an extensive injury list ahead of their round 19 blockbuster against Richmond on Saturday, Collingwood lost defender Matthew Scharenberg with what seems to be a season-ending knee injury.
On a brighter note, James Aish, who has also missed much of the season due to injury, got through the game unscathed and performed well in the Pies' eight-point win.
