CARLTON midfielder Ed Curnow will miss up to another four weeks with a bruised larynx, but the Blues are expecting Jed Lamb to return from concussion this weekend.
Curnow missed the Blues' loss to Adelaide last Saturday after suffering a knock to his throat a week earlier against Richmond.
The Blues were unsure last week how long Curnow would be sidelined, but announced on Tuesday afternoon he could miss the next month of football.
"He's got some significant bruising around [the throat] and the specialists are telling us that he's going to be unavailable for up to four weeks. So that's disappointing for Ed and us, but we should have him back well before the end of the year," Carlton football manager Andrew McKay told the club's website.
Lamb also missed the Crows loss after being knocked out by Richmond defender Bachar Houli in the first quarter of Carlton's round 14 loss.
"He's progressing along nicely," McKay said of Lamb.
"(It's) highly likely that he will play [this round] but we'll have to test him again at the end of the week,"
The Blues footy boss was also confident Daniel Gorringe (adductor) would return at some level this weekend, but said Tom Williamson (back) and Alex Silvagni (knee) would miss at least another week.
