Collingwood will take on the Sydney Swans for the second time this pre-season, when the clubs meet for a regional challenge match in the New South Wales Riverina town of Narrandera on Friday 9 March.The AFL has scheduled the match, which will begin at 7pm local time, in an attempt to generate proceeds to go towards regional areas struggling to cope with the affects of the drought.The Magpies concluded their community camp on the NSW Central Coast two weeks ago with a practice match against Sydney at North Sydney Oval."The Riverina area has been a great base for AFL football over many decades and we are delighted to take two of our founding clubs to a key part of the game's grassroots heartland," AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said in a press statement on Tuesday."The AFL will again take at least seven matches away from the capital cities and into regional locations for the 2007 regional challenge, but we felt it was vital to make a strong commitment to those communities that are facing hardships."After going down to the Kangaroos at Carrara in the first week of the pre-season cup competition last Friday night, Collingwood will welcome back a host of big names when it takes on St Kilda in a regional challenge match at 4.30pm this Friday afternoon at MC Labour Park in Carlton. Collingwood members will be able to enter the ground FREE.Collingwood's round one match of the home-and-away season is against the Kangaroos on Saturday 31 March at the MCG.
