MELBOURNE’S season may be over, but Michael Newton and Russell Robertson arestill in the running for individual awards.

Both Demon forwards took outstanding grabsin their side’s win over Carltonon Sunday at the MCG to earn Toyota AFL Mark of the Year nominations for round21.

Newton took a huge leap and marked strongly over teammate Matthew Bate,while Robertson pulled down a trademark speccie after rising above Heath Scotland,before hitting the MCG turf with a thud.

Demon fans can view and vote for the marksat www.afl.com.au/markgoal.

Voting is open from the Monday after eachround through to the following Sunday night.

In 2007, the winners of the Toyota AFL Markand Goal of the Year awards will each receive:

  • $5000 for their grassroots Club, alsopresented by Toyota.
  • The use of a Toyota Kluger CV for 12months.
  • A crystal replica of the official,perpetual Toyota AFL Mark of the Year and Toyota AFL Goal of the Year trophies,presented by the AFL and Toyota.
  • The Alex Jesaulenko Medal (mark) and PhilManassa Medal (goal), presented by Toyota

Now that we have reached the end of the 22-roundToyota AFL Premiership season, the AFL All-Australian Selection Committee will soondecide the overall winner from the 22 weekly winners.

The awards will be the presented during2007 Toyota AFL Grand Final week.
