It was great to see Fremantle’s first-year players poll well at Monday night’s Brownlow Medal count in Melbourne.

Mature-age rookie Michael Barlow polled 12 votes to come second overall at Freo despite not playing after round 14.

Nat Fyfe (5 votes) and Anthony Morabito (3) also managed to find themselves on the Dockers’ leaderboard in their debut seasons.

Ruckman Aaron Sandilands was the highest polling Freo player with 20 votes, while Matthew Pavlich and David Mundy tied for third at the club with nine votes.
