SIX STARS have joined the Virgin Australia International Rules squad, with North Melbourne bookends Ben Brown and Robbie Tarrant giving coach Chris Scott more height to pick from.
Hawthorn swingman Jack Gunston, Melbourne defender Neville Jetta, West Coast midfielder Luke Shuey and Carlton veteran Kade Simpson rounded out the additions.
Injured GWS star Toby Greene will not play in the two Tests after breaking the little toe in his left foot in October while on an overseas trip to New York.
The matches against Ireland will take place at Adelaide Oval on Sunday, November 12 and Domain Stadium on Saturday, November 18.
The squad will meet in Adelaide next week, when a captain and leadership group will be decided on.
Brad Scott and Ross Lyon will be assistant coaches.
Tarrant looms as a prime candidate to be goalkeeper but has not given the role much thought. While he told reporters on Thursday it was the "toughest role", the backman was prepared to play on the last line if asked.
"I'm up for anything. Wherever they want you to play, you play," Tarrant said.
Essendon's Brendon Goddard has also indicated he is ready to don the gloves.
For Gunston, the games will be a chance to reconnect with a couple of former Adelaide teammates.
"(Patrick) Dangerfield and (Rory) Sloane, it will be good to team up with them again, although 'Danger' can get a bit annoying at times and he'll probably kick me out of the forward line," Gunston said.
Well done to our boys @tazza_25 & @bdbrown50 for getting the call up to the Australian squad.. Do us proud boys ðª
