The AFL Membership Service Centre has received some enquiries regarding the AFL Full Membership Waitlist and would like to clarify that your waitlist number is an indication of how many people are in front of you for a Full Membership upgrade.

The waitlist number is generated based on the date of processing your membership application and the number of years of continual membership. There are no other factors associated in determining how the waitlist number is generated.

This number will be upgraded each year once Full Member upgrades are completed and will be communicated on your membership renewal invoice from 2011.

AFL Full Membership is capped at 30,000 and the number of upgrade invitations sent annually to Silver Members is dependent on the number of Full Members who do not renew for that particular season.

Due to the unpredictability of the annual Full Membership renewal rate, we unfortunately cannot provide an estimate to the number of years it will take for Full Membership eligibility. We can however advise that with the combination of Full Membership upgrades and Silver Members who didn’t renew, that in 2010 AFL Silver Members moved an average of 2000 places. Please note however that this will be dependent on where you are on the waitlist.

When Full Member upgrades are completed in June 2011, we will advise all AFL Silver Members how many members were upgraded to Full Membership via email and on aflmembership.com.au to ensure all members are aware of the process and where they are in the queue.

Your waitlist number for Full Membership can be found in the letter sent with your 2011 AFL Membership Card.

What if I am an AFL Silver Member and I don’t have a waitlist number?
If you do not have a waitlist number provided on your letter, it indicates that you have declined an offer of upgrade in the past and your number has been bypassed. Should you wish to take up a Full Membership, please contact the AFL Membership Service Centre to put your name in the upgrade database for the following season.
