WITH THE Port Adelaide Football Club asking supporters to ‘Live the Creed’, one Power fan is already being “active, aggressive and devoted to the cause”.
Lead singer of local band the Zep Boys, Vince Contarino, has teamed up with Quentin Eyers (who wrote the club song) to write and record a song that expresses their passion and love for the Power. Titled ‘Live the Creed’, the song urges supporters to band together and do their bit to continue the enviable tradition of the Port Adelaide Football Club.
Power chief executive Mark Haysman said the song reinforces the values of the club.
“I think it’s a terrific initiative, it’s just great to see the passion of our supporters because they’ve been the lifeblood of this club for 138 years,” Haysman said.
“For a supporter like Vince to go out and do this sort of thing off his own back is great.
"We appreciate what he’s done and it’ll certainly engage young kids, but as for how we use it, we’re still working through that.”
“We’re listening to our members and supporters and we’re really pleased that there’s a lot of passion out there to celebrate where we’ve come from and the values of the club. We certainly encourage every supporter to get involved and express their passion for the club.”
