The State Government’s decision to extend a new electrified rail system to West Lakes has been applauded by the Adelaide Football Club.

Adelaide CEO Steven Trigg said: “This is a wonderful outcome for our members, supporters and club generally. Besides the overall benefits to the western suburbs, the light rail option for football patrons will undoubtedly be a big winner.

“We have seen the successful impact of the relatively new bus service and the rail link will take more cars off the road, considerably ease congestion and provide a quick and efficient means of getting to and from the footy.

“On behalf of 50,000 members, 600,000 club supporters and the one million visitors to AAMI each year, we applaud the State Government’s vision and leadership.”
