The Sydney Swans reserves proved too strong for the East Coast Eagles at ANZ Stadium on Saturday night, running out winners by 38 points over the reigning Sydney Football League premiers.

Midfielder Dan Hannebery was best afield in a dominant display racking up over 40 quality possessions. Others to play well were defender Campbell Heath, wingman Matthew O’Dwyer and key defender Sam Reid.

Henry Playfair was also a strong performer taking a number of strong marks and ending up with four goals.  Patrick Veszpremi at half back and up forward and Daniel Currie in the ruck also showed good form.

The reserves will again play in a practice match when they take on the AIS/AFL Squad at Blacktown next Saturday before commencing the AFL Canberra season the week after Easter.
