The premiership Pie, who enjoyed an impressive season in a new defensive forward role this year, is understood to be on the verge of signing an extension.
Last week, Collingwood football and coaching strategist Rodney Eade said Goldsack had put in his "best and most consistent year" this season across his 22 games.
"He was thrown forward against Essendon, and just his speed and ability - he's kicked 24 goals and his tackles were high up - so he was a real plus for us," Eade told AFL.com.au.
"We had injuries and struggled at times but out of any negatives come positives, and I think Goldsack was one of those."
Andrew Krakouer, Ben Johnson and Brent Macaffer are also expected to be offered new contracts.
Premiership pair Sharrod Wellingham and Chris Dawes are looking at leaving the club, with the former naming West Coast as his club of choice on Thursday night.
Wellingham, who hails from Perth, will now head overseas and leave the Pies and Eagles to reach an agreement that suits them both.
"I spent a couple of weeks working through the decision and the process with my manager and I am really looking forward to continuing my career at West Coast," Wellingham told the Eagles' website.
"I am very appreciative of the opportunities that Collingwood gave me, I will always have some very good friends there, but it is now time to move on.
"It will be exciting to get back to Perth and to play in front of my family every week. That was a very strong influence on my decision to leave and I look forward to playing with the Eagles.
"Playing against them, we had enormous respect for West Coast, and I believe they have a young list capable of winning a premiership in the next few years."
Dawes has asked his manager Ben Niall to look at opportunities elsewhere after the Pies' acquisition of West Coast forward Quinten Lynch during the week.
Lynch was recruited via free agency, while trades will need to be struck to see Wellingham and Dawes get to the clubs of their choice.
Dawes has not named a preferred destination, although his manager said there were three to four clubs who had expressed interest in his services.
