ST KILDA big man Justin Koschitzke has been named to play his first game for the season after finally overcoming an ankle injury.

Koschitzke has travelled north to take on the Brisbane Lions in Thursday night's clash at the Gabba that will kick off the Easter/Anzac Day long weekend round five.

Steven Baker has also been recalled to the side for his first game since before the Saints' round four bye while Andrew McQualter will return for the first time since round one.

Making way for the trio are the omitted Ryan Gamble, Brett Peake and Raphael Clarke.

Defender Jason Blake remains on the outer and has been named as an emergency along with Nick Winmar and Clarke.

Koschitzke told saints.com.au he would mainly play in attack but would spend some time giving Ben McEvoy support in the ruck.

"The surgeons did a great job and I'm just looking forward to getting back out there now. I can't wait," he said.

"I think I'll play predominantly forward and back up 'Macca' [Ben McEvoy] as a second ruck man."

The Lions have made two changes to their side after also having a bye last weekend.

Ryan Lester is set to miss between six and 12 weeks after suffering ligament damage in his right foot and Claye Beams has been omitted.

Coming in are ruckman Broc McCauley and utility Tom Collier, with the former to return for his second AFL game while the latter gets to run out for his first senior appearance for 2011.

Lions midfielder Daniel Rich will rack up his 50th AFL game against the Saints while Michael Voss will make his 50th coaching appearance.

Rich has not missed a senior game since he made his debut in round one, 2009.
