BRENT Moloney's agent says he has canvassed every other club, and the departing Melbourne star is happy to go anywhere to continue his AFL career.

The 28-year-old has exited the Demons and is now a free agent, but believes he has what it takes to continue his AFL career.

Moloney is on holiday overseas and will return to Australia next week to begin to seriously consider his options.

"He's happy to look at any opportunities, he's not adverse to moving interstate," manager Bruce Kaider told AFL.com.au on Monday as Gillette AFL Free Agency Period opened.

Kaider said he had spoken to each of the 17 other clubs as he looks to find a new home for the hardened midfielder.

"He'd like to help a team become successful; leadership is a part of what Brent can offer," Kaider said.

Kaider admitted it was early days in discussions, and said free agency would get off to a slow start as clubs and agents tested the waters.

He said Brendon Goddard's likely move to Essendon might be the icebreaker that saw other deals come into play.

But Kaider said he wouldn't be surprised if the Saints took their time to respond to the Bombers' reported offer.

"I would take all three days," Kaider said.

Moloney has played 145 AFL matches, having debuted for Geelong in 2003 before moving to Melbourne in 2005.

He won the Demons best and fairest in 2011.
