The AFL wishes to advise the match review panel has reviewed the round 19 matches. The following charges were laid:

Charges Laid:
Jack Ziebell, North Melbourne,
has been charged with a level one striking offence against Kade Simpson, Carlton, during the first quarter of the round 19 match between North Melbourne and Carlton, played at Etihad Stadium on Friday July 29, 2011.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Carlton, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing a reprimand and 80 points towards his future record. He has no existing good or record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record.

Tom Williams, Western Bulldogs, has been charged with a level one tripping offence against Mark LeCras, West Coast during the first quarter of the round 19 match between the Western Bulldogs and West Coast, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday July 30, 2011.

In summary, due to a five-year good record, he can accept a reprimand and 45 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from West Coast, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing a reprimand and 80 points towards his future record. He has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 60 points towards his future record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 45 points towards his future record.

Greg Broughton, Fremantle, has been charged with a first offence for making negligent contact with an umpire (Rob Findlay) during the second quarter of the Round 19 match between Fremantle and Hawthorn, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday July 30, 2011.

In summary, he can accept a $900 sanction with an early plea.

Dylan Roberton, Fremantle, has been charged with a level two striking offence against Xavier Ellis, Hawthorn, during the third quarter of the Round 19 match between Fremantle and Hawthorn, played at Patersons Stadium on Saturday July 30, 2011.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Hawthorn, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record.

Zac Dawson, St Kilda, has been charged with a level two striking offence against Josh Fraser, Gold Coast, during the fourth quarter of the Round 19 match between St Kilda and Gold Coast, played at Metricon Stadium on Saturday July 30, 2011.

In summary, due to a previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one match, even with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Gold Coast, the incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has three matches suspended within the last three years, increasing the penalty by 30 per cent to 162.50 points. He also has 50 demerit points carried over from within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 212.50 points and a two-match sanction. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 159.38 points and a one-match sanction.

Chris Knights, Adelaide, has been charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence against Brett Ebert, Port Adelaide, during the second quarter of the round 19 match between Adelaide and Port Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday July 31, 2011.

In summary, due to an existing five-year good record, he can accept a reprimand and 70.31 points towards his future record with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from Port Adelaide, the incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and body contact (one point). This is a total of three activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has an existing five-year good record, which reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record. Cameron O'Shea, Port Adelaide, has been charged with a level two striking offence against David Mackay, Adelaide, during the fourth quarter of the Round 19 match between Port Adelaide and Adelaide, played at AAMI Stadium on Sunday July 31, 2011.

In summary, he can accept a reprimand and 93.75 points towards his future record with an early plea.

This is a total of five activation points, resulting in a classification of a level two offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. Other Incidents Assessed:

Contact between Geelong's Joel Corey and Melbourne's Nathan Jones from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The panel said there was no forceful high contact and it was the view of the panel that Corey went to ground due to a tangle of legs with his opponent. No further action was taken.

Contact between Melbourne's Lynden Dunn and Geelong's Paul Chapman from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The panel received a medical report on Chapman and it was the view of the panel the force used was below that required to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.

Contact between Geelong's Paul Chapman and Melbourne's Lynden Dunn from the second quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The panel received a medical report on Dunn and after a review of several instances of contact, it was the panel's view there was not the force required to constitute a reportable offence at any occasion of the contact between the two players. No further action was taken.

Contact between the Western Bulldogs' Daniel Giansirucusa and West Coast's Adam Selwood and also contact between Selwood and Giansiracusa from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. After reviewing all available footage and receiving medical reports from both clubs, it could not be determined that a reportable offence occurred. No further action was taken.

Contact between Gold Coast's Campbell Brown and St Kilda's Justin Koschitzke from the third quarter of Saturday's was assessed. Brown's actions were viewed as a legitimate attempt to spoil the ball. No further action was taken.

Contact between Hawthorn's Michael Osborne and Fremantle's Paul Duffield from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The two players were chasing after a loose ball when Osborne tried to push off his opponent. Duffield raised his right arm to block the push and it was the view of the panel that Osborne's action was not a striking action. No further action was taken.

Contact between a number of Adelaide and Port Adelaide players from the fourth quarter of Sunday's match was assessed. It was the view of the panel there was no significant wrestling or grappling between the players that may constitute a melee charge for any individual. No further action was taken.
