THERE are only two things Richmond fans want in 2017: a finals win and for Dusty to re-sign.
That's according to Tigers supporters themselves, who gave their mid-season verdict in an AFL.com.au survey.
The last time Richmond saw success in September was back in 2001. To put that in perspective, Tiger draftee Shai Bolton was two years old at the time.
Fans expect Damien Hardwick's firing side to have every chance of that coveted finals win, tipping the Tiges to push on and finish between third sixth.
Out-of-contract superstar and Brownlow chance Dustin Martin is far and away the team's best performer, fans say.
Meanwhile the inclusion of young speedsters Jason Castagna and Dan Butler has seen sharpshooter Sam Lloyd struggle to retain his spot, and Tiger supporters have named him the side's biggest underperformer.
Here are the survey results, plus a selection of Tiger fans' views on their hopes for the rest of the season.
It'll be a good year for the Tigers if …
Dusty signs a five-year deal to stay at Punt Road.
- Matt Paddon, Bunbury WA
We finally overcome our September demons and win a final.
- Steve Marso, Richmond Vic
We get revenge on GWS and Fremantle.
- Faruq Usman, Sydney NSW
We manage to make the top four, then win at least one final. Prestia to hit peak form come September.
- Sam Headon, Yamba NSW
We play more than one round of finals and our pressure football is maintained for the whole year.
- Ben McArthur, Gordon Vic
We clear first finals round and Martin stays at Punt Road.
- Damian Cavanagh, Seymour Vic
We're chanting "Yellow and black" after a final.
- Ryan Seccull, Canberra ACT
