"I got up to some good speeds," Andrews said.

"It's really positive. I'll see how I pull up after the weekend but it's looking good."

Brisbane players have been given the weekend off and will return on Monday to prepare for Friday night's qualifying final against their nemesis Tigers.

Andrews was replaced by youngster Jack Payne in the three games he missed, saying his recovery had progressed quicker than expected.

"We achieved everything we wanted to in the last couple of weeks.

"The rehab guys do an awesome job in setting benchmarks you have to hit for strength and speed and thankfully I've been able to hit that.

"I'm ready to go I think."
