Uproar and a long campaign from its loyal supporters has forced the AFL to grant to Roos the right to wear their traditional blue and white jumper against the Pies for the first time in several years.
This major coup coincides with the filming of a strong television commercial featuring some of the club's most respected stars urging all fans to 'earn your stripes' by turning up to the game with blue and white proudly on display.

You can 'Earn your stripes’ by buying your membership in the lead up to the blockbuster match which is expected to go close to being a sell-out at Etihad Stadium. The first 10,000 North Melbourne members through the gates will be given a blue or white flag.
North Melbourne will welcome back vice-captain Drew Petrie and ruckman Todd Goldstein, with key defender Nathan Grima also a chance to play.
Reserved seat holders will find blue and white flags on their seats while other members can pick one up from a marquee on the concourse outside gate 5 before the game.
