RICHMOND has snapped up another key player, with defender AlexRance committing to the Tigers for the next two years.

Rance, 23, becomes the latest Tiger to sign with the clubahead of what appears likely to be their first finals campaign since 2001.

"It's nice to be wanted," Rance toldrichmondfc.com.au.

"If I didn't pick up that, I'd probably be collectinggarbage for someone, so it was nice to be wanted for another couple of years."

Last week Nick Vlastuin, Brandon Ellis, Chris Newman and Jake King all signed contract extensions while captain Trent Cotchin committedfor two years earlier this season.

Rance said it was encouraging to see the number of playerswho had already extended their contracts this year.

"We've got great depth in the side. We're just waitingon another couple of big names to sign up but I'm sure they're not faraway," he said.

"Definitely it's good to see that young kids believe inthe style of play we're playing and the wins help too."

The two big names yet to re-sign are Jack Riewoldt and Dustin Martin, while Reece Conca, Dylan Grimes, Daniel Jackson and Shane Tuckare also coming out of contract.

Rance said his form had improved recently after being shakyearly this season, and he believed he was as settled as he'd ever been in theRichmond line up after 78 senior games.

"I still get as nervous each game as I did my firstone," he said.

"It is a lot nicer once you're in the position I'm innow, where you know you've got your spot and you know what you've got to do andit's just a matter of consistency and execution.

"The first couple of years were a bit tough; I didn'treally know my spot but now I know what type of player I want to be and I knowwhat type of career I want to have, so I'm pretty happy with where I'mat."
