The AFL has announced today that the on-sale date for general public ticketing for the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final will open tomorrow, Tuesday October 20 at 9am AEST, (10am ADST) via Ticketmaster.
In the first time in more than 20 years the AFL Grand Final will go on-sale to the general public.
The general public on-sale follows a successful club member on-sale today which saw over 2,200 Geelong members secure their tickets and 3,500 Richmond members purchase their seats. Tickets were only on sale to club members who were in Queensland or in states where there is travel allowed into Queensland.
The capacity for the Gabba for the 2020 Toyota AFL Grand Final is capped at 30,000.
AFL Chief Executive Gillon McLachlan said the general public on-sale was a great opportunity for fans to secure a ticket to the most sort after match of the season.
“The Queensland community has whole heartedly welcomed the AFL family over the last few months and we look forward to getting as many Queenslanders to the biggest and best event on the Australian sporting calendar,” Mr McLachlan said.
“More than 176,000 fans have attended the 2020 Toyota AFL Finals Series so far, amazing numbers considering the circumstances, and we look forward to hosting another 30,000 at the Gabba on Saturday.”
“This has been an unprecedented season and we are excited that more Queensland football and sporting fans who are not members of the competing clubs will have the opportunity to attend the Toyota AFL Grand Final.”
A price freeze on all Toyota AFL Finals Series tickets was announced just prior to the 2020 Finals Series, including the Grand Final. Tickets start at $185.
The Toyota AFL Grand Final will be played at the Gabba on Saturday October 24, with pre-match entertainment starting at 5:30pm AEST.
