Geelong coach Chris Scott stands alone just half a season into his first campaign as a senior coach.
Scott’s Cats have won 11 straight to start the season, meaning that the young Geelong coach is the first coach in the 114 year history of the league to prevail in his first 11 games.
South Melbourne coach Johnny Leonard won the opening 10 games as coach of the Swans in 1932, his only season as a coach in the then VFL.
Leonard’s record has stood unchallenged since, before Scott took on the Cats in 2011.
Geelong has won four of the 11 games by less than a goal, including Saturday’s thrilling come from behind win over the Hawks.
