YOUNG Port Adelaide player Willem Drew has signed a two-year contract that sees him committed to the club until the end of 2020.
Drew was drafted at No.33 in 2016 but is yet to make his debut.
Surgery on his right heel in May ruled him out for the year.
It was an injury the 19-year-old had carried for multiple months, but he is expected to be fit for the start of pre-season.
"We see Willem's future as a bigger-bodied midfielder," football manager Chris Davies told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"He has good hands in tight and a very good work rate.
"He has played on the outside while developing his body, but we expect he'll spend the next phase of his development as an inside mid.
"He's a promising young talent and we are pleased that he has chosen to continue his time at Port Adelaide."
